This unique collector box (8.75 x 8.75) pays homage to the USS Albacore AGSS-569. The Albacore was a research submarine and pioneered the teardrop hull design utilized by later submarine classes. The USS Albacore went into service in 1953 and was ultimately decommissioned in 1972, not before she underwent 5 extensive renovations in furtherance of submarine design and research. This unique collector's box features two custom made 3D resin models of the Albacore - a profile view and an overhead view. The USS Albacore is available to tour in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
